Teaching period two had started, after the exam, Christmas holiday and the Chinese New Year, I am so energetic now, hoping to enjoy and learn more different things in this teaching period.
I would like to share a recent news from Hong Kong. A billionaire named Lau Chen Fai who is 53 years old, declared bankrupt within a day three years ago after the outbreak of SARS. After bankruptcy, he thought about committing suicide but he misses his children and so he didn’t give up at all. Unemployment for nearly 4 years, he worked as a sweeper last year. While he was working, he uses sunglasses and hat to prevent any acquaintances. He understand that his qualification won’t get him a good job again and so he took some retraining courses, kept on learning new things such as sending emails, searching jobs through internet etc. Fortunately, he got a new job in Beijing during this Chinese New Year.
I feel really sorry and it is extremely upsetting that his wife died right before he face all these financial difficulties, he have to take care his children on his own as well but on the other hand, I am happy that he could find a similar job that he used to work and I really appreciate his courage and boldness.
Looking back all the things happened, Lau said that”Money is only a game of a pile of figures, sufficient would be okay, the most important are friends and family are with you and a good health.
There were a lot of bad news throughout the whole world during this credit crunch, some of us may be facing difficulties and having a tough time now. No matter how hard it is, our family and friends are always there to overcome with us. What we can learn from Lau is his attitude towards life and be optimistic to face this difficult time. Starting from zero and facing a huge change in life is always hard!
